Data Recipes

Get consolidated insights from different data sources with Firefly Data Recipes, powered by our proprietary K-Store Graph Database.

What is a data recipe?

A data recipe is a tracked item of data that occurs across different sources for which you want a single metric.

For example, something simple like 'number of customers' may be dependent on tracking and consolidating data from footfall in-store; online accounts; repeat sales activity and CRM data.

A data recipe consolidates these sources into a single metric, while still offering the flexibility to dig into the details.

So you can get an aggregate metric like 'total number of customers' or filter it down to a specific metric like 'number of customer at this store at this time'.

Combine recipes for powerful reporting

We call our reports Recipe Boards for the simple reason that they're made up of multiple data recipes.

By combining data recipes in this way, you quickly get a tailored report from consolidated data sources in a simple package.

And because each report uses data recipes as a foundation, you still have the flexibility to drill down into specifics - and even limit what certain people see based on their roles in the organisation.

New data is linked automatically

Firefly's Smart Data Warehouse ensures that any new data is available in minutes. Our automated ETL process finds common data values and joins them to your existing rules and related Data Recipes.

The result is that you’re able to get insights from your new data source faster, without additional configurations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Firefly a data warehouse or a data lake?

Actually Firefly can be both. Using smart data solutions and data recipes, intelligent Firefly can store both structured or non-structured data and documents to create a Data Lake.

What's the difference between a Data Recipe and a Recipe Board?

A Recipe is a key piece of information or metric that you wish to track.  A Recipe Board is the canvas used to design and present the visualisations chosen by you to display your tracked Recipes.
