Part of the Rascal Systems implementation is a combined critical Data Warehouse solution incorporating a data migration from Oracle to SQL Server. The warehouse had been in place for many years and the ETL processing was complex and would have been difficult to replace as part of the migration process.
After considering the project options, Rascal Systems partnered with Alphamind Solutions and selected Alphamind's Firefly product for the project.
Using Firefly DWH Builder functionality the Alphamind consultants developed a replacement data warehouse structure and processing framework managed by Firefly. After migrating the historical data and enabling the new ETL, Firefly is managing the DWH process. The Oracle migration was completed within the required timescales and to budget.
Now the solution is running successfully on SQL server and within the Firefly DWH Builder framework, Rascal can look forward to developing the capabilities and functions to support business growth and development.
